STUDENT CLUBS AND ORGANIZATIONS II

 

Our clubs, consisting primarily of Mechanical Engineering students:

 

-Mechanical Technologies Club (MAKTEK) (1997) (This club supports students—primarily mechanical engineering students, but also those interested in engineering and design—in working on various projects and developing new initiatives.)

Groups affiliated with the Mechanical Technologies Club:

·DBF (Design Build Fly Competition) Team (They design airplanes and participate in the DBF Competition held in the United States.)

·MAKTEK Artificial Intelligence Group (They develop autonomous vehicles.)

·YTU Racing Team (They participate in the FORMULA Student competition held in the U.S. and Europe.)

·Yıldız Rocket Team (They participate in TEKNOFEST and the İREC competition.)

·Solar Decathlon Team (They participate in the Solar Decathlon competition and work on energy-efficient home designs.)

·Maker Group (They conduct research on 3D printing.)

 

-Alternative Energy Systems Club (AESK) (2010) 

 

This year, as part of the Shell Eco-Marathon Europe 2020—the world’s longest-running student innovation competition, held digitally due to the pandemic—our AE2 Project Team once again won first place in the “Safety” category.

 

-Wind Energy Club (REK) (2010) (They represent our university every year in international competitions by conducting research on vehicles powered by wind energy.)
